I bought this to replace a crappy old flexible vent. The elbow works great so I can push the dryer very close to the wall, my dryer vent connection was a little recessed in the back so it was difficult to get the clamp place far enough in to do anything but I got it as close as possible and pushed the dryer back to where the elbow is being wedged between the wall and the dryer, seems like the elbow is made for that purpose because it has a little fin on it that sticks out so to keep the heat off the wall. Really happy with my purchase, the price is great and it was a piece of cake to install.One quick note: make sure to check all the clamps on it to make sure they’re tight, the ones already on the elbow were not tight enough for my liking. Also it would be smart to wrap the joints in duck tape to insure a tight seal, without tape the joints do seap a little bit of air

you will never ever in your wildest dreams get this to be 8 feet long. what you do get (eventually) is 6.5 ft with dents in it from gripping it between your thighs while trying to carefully stretch it out. so do not grip between thighs. wear gloves (or your hands will be black) and hold about a foot's worth between hands while simultaneously rotating and working your way down the length until your muscles give out.elbow end will never clamp to dryer outlet pipe. they are both rigid. do not waste an hour thinking you can clamp this. just shove it on there. mine overlapped at least an inch, and it stayed there. (do not be tempted to tape it one b/c you will only be discouraged from ever cleaning your ductwork again.) other end to the outside was male, my duct to outside was male. .....hmmmmm. turns out this end cuff is attached with clamp--took it off and reversed cuff and got female end, which i could then clamp on to outside duct. took hours to get there but its on and it stayed. not an entertaining or time efficient installation. but it has to be an improvement on the old aluminum foil.

 — Just what I was looking for and couldn't find locally. Heavy-duty semi-rigid metal dryer duct with an elbow connection on one end, 2 4" metal clamps included. My external duct connection is floor-based (rather than coming through the wall), so I wanted a standard connection on one end and a swivel elbow connecting to the dryer. This works perfectly, allowing the dryer to be pushed back further toward the wall without crimping the duct, as was the case with our old foil-type duct. Our washer and dryer are behind bifold doors in the bathroom, so we need every inch of clearance space we can manage.

This solved a 20 year problem in my house in the laundry room where there is little space, and the outside vent pipe lays up against drywall and is either too high or low, depending on your viewpoint.Anyway, to the point, the magic of this is the rotating coupler to the dryer. What I means is, you fasten it to the dryer and it allows the dryer hose to pivot. It works reasonably well although disappointingly, it does not really save any space compared to just making a bend with pipe. The other part that works well is the corrugated metal pipe which allows you to stretch it a bit, but minimizes the length, which avoids the metal foil pipe which snakes for about 10 feet behind your dryer giving you the dreaded "AF" error and not allowing proper airflow.The coupler to the wall pipe did not work well for me and I had to do some metal work, but that's my home builder's fault.This this is a bargain and after years of struggle, the dryer works as intended

Not happy at all, I expected better than this and hopefully the company will improve the product accordingly.The bad:1- Elbow leaks air, not tight seal.2- Elbow has long sharp edges so when the dryer is pushed to the wall, the elbow will damage the wall. Look at the photos posted by other reviewers, the edge of the elbow that you see there is sharp like a knife.2- Clamps are a joke. This duct must have a worm style clamp, not the included screw clamps. The screw clamps will not be tight enough and will have clearance issue.The nice:Everything else.Product returned.

I have been trying to find a decent dryer vent kit for years. I have absolutely no room behind my dryer. I have found success with this one. The elbow and flexible tube allowed me to maneuver around the gas shutoff valve without the dryer sticking out in the room. It does expand to 8 feet (I expanded it fully) but it must be done before you hook it up. I found that if you put the tube between your knees and use both hands to pull a section at a time, it expands fine. Having a second person to hold it place while you secure the two clamps at each end is a plus. This is a much sturdier vent kit (it doesn’t crush) than available at the big box stores.

It is high quality, but must be installed with unrestricted access to the back of the machine. If you attempt to install from the back of your dryer, but cannot push the dryer back in without moving, it will NOT stay in position.

I replaced my vertical 6 foot to a roof vent with this part and a filter box (Jardine). I did not clean my lines on what is essentially a new house for seven years and only discovered while shoveling snow off the roof that it was clogged. The bottom six feet of 4" pipe was completely clogged with lint. So live and learn that the lint filters on dryers do not work. Also you can not have a straight vertical run out of the dryer for more than three feet without a second lint collection or eventually your pipe will fill up.Its a nasty job cleaning that lint and I never want to do it again. So I purchased the second lint filter box and placed a waste basket below it, so for every wash, the lint that gets past the filter will be removed.This product, while 8 feet is a stretch on length, has very nice connectors including a swivel female connector for the dryer output and a male couple for the other end. Cuts nice with a scissors and easy to attach to the filter box. Sturdy enough for this purpose, handle with care. I think if I had a longer run than three feet or any vertical without a filter, I would use sheet metal or pvc as the corrugated is going to collect more lint.

This is not 8 feet may be 6 feet at most. I was trying to stretch it while it was secured at the dryer but it came out at the elbow side. Part of the elbow was still attached to the dryer and part was still attached to the duct with the clamp. I had hard time putting the elbow back together because it was flimsy and cheaply made. The duct is rigid but not 8 feet as described. So do not buy this product if you want to save time and money .

So the hose itself is stronger than many types of duct hoses I've seen, but the connectors are built like crap. Poorly machined, very weak joints make this thing useless.Then there are the clamps. It appeared to use nice ratchet style clamps, but instead shipped with the worst quality clamps possible. They aren't threaded for the screw that comes with them, it's just this janky friction hold.Buy the hose separately, and some decent hardware to go with it.

This vent was just what I needed to replace a flimsy flex duct that was attached to my dryer. As my dryer gets pushed very close to the wall behind i needed a 90 degree elbow that would accommodate this, and this product made my life easier. I could tell it is nice quality and thickness but also easy to maneuver. Having an extra set of hands to stretch it out helps. The only negative comment I can say is that the 4in worm clamps that this come with are a bit thin so I purchased a few others at home depot which are like $1 each so no big deal. Just use some foil hvac tape on the connections and a clamp and the installation super quick and easy.
